Vieux Noel + Dennis Stroughmatt
When: Thursday, Dec 31, 2020
Where: 116 S Main St, Ste. Genevieve, MO 63670, USA (map)
Description:
In the tradition of French Santons, stroll through a fire lit backyard and historic boxwood shrubs as you follow children from the colonial town of Ste. Genevieve as they bring gifts to the newborn king, resting in a nativity scene. Craft vendors will be inside the Linden House and traditional Holiday Music will be played live as well. 5:00-8:00pm December 11 and 18
Common Grounds Coffee House will be on site, serving coffee and hot chocolate (fees apply) and there will be complimentary cookies as well. This program will help us close out the year in the spirit of merriment and we hope you will join us.
NEW YEAR'S EVE: We are excited to add this program again on The 12/31 with some changes! In addition to the light walk, live music and cookies/cocoa, Dennis Stroughmatt will be performing the traditional La Guignolee song around a campfire. The La Guignolee group from Ste. Gen has cancelled their performance for that night and with their blessing, we asked Dennis if he would be willing to play this 250+ year old folk song live that night. He will be performing throughout the 5:00-6:00pm hour after his 2-3pm performance at the Catholic Church of Ste. Genevieve.
This event is FREE but we do ask that you consider leaving a donation as you leave. Admission will be accessible through the Hands-On History House, located at 116 S. Main Street in Downtown Ste. Genevieve. Call 573-880-4123 for more information.
